To bring positive focus to The Midtown area of the City of Gary, by developing an arts based, spiritual, culturally diverse, experience with festive activities, food and friendly competitions involving sports, chess, and other games. And to eventually develop a "Saturday Market", where artists and other craftspeople can come together and sell their quality handmade, creations, foods, and farmers can sell their vegetables, plants, etc. Where entertainers can perform, poets recite, and minstrels play, and food vendors can cook.

Volunteers can have experience of varying degrees, most important is the desire to see a project through to fruition. Organizationall skills and working with others and even taking the lead is important and a plus! Willing to work in a multicultural atmosphere and sincere about the betterment of human kind. Skills in all the art disciplines a plus but not mandatory, web design, grant writing, fundraising, scheduling, landscaping, carpentry, and most other skills can be utilized. Individuals with experience in planning, coordinating and officiating 5k runs and walks are needed to help measure courses, administrate and organize the competition. Individuals with experience in marketing, advertising and promotions, video production, photography, etc. are also needed.

Needed art instructors all disciplines, to teach a couple of hours a week in an after school, week end and summer art program. Located in midtown Gary, IN. Hours: After School, 2:30 to 6:00 PM, Saturday, 10:00 AM to Noon, Summer Program, 10:00 AM to 3:00 PM.

An artist with teaching experience to help develop a curriculum for students in an after school and summer art program. Knowledge of Disciplined Based Art Teaching Techniques is a plus and knowledge of montesorri teaching principals also a plus. Innovative thinking is what we are looking for to prepare our youth to face the world through the principals of the art.

As a non-profit organization we are in desperate need of funding. We have been in existence for five years and haven't been able to acquire the major funding needed to pay salaries and make much needed repairs to the building in which we are housed, to buy the much needed equipment needed to properly implement our program and to purchase a small bus to transport those children who live a considereable distance from the center. We ar in desperate need to find some major funding. We have an excellent program, we just need a litlle financial hel to help us implement it fully.
